The Nerdy Girlie: What is your 1st nerd memory?
Barb: I’d have to say watching Saturday Morning Cartoons like X-men and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. I would watch shows like Power Rangers before school during the week.
TNG: How and why did you start blogging?
Barb: This is such a loaded question because I’ve been blogging for years. It’s safe to say half my life actually. I’ve used everything from GreyMatter back in the day to Blogger, Wordpress and of course now via my own domains. When I first started it was just like a diary. They were personal blogs where I would just write whatever I felt. I actually took a break from the personal blogging game because it started to feel like a job. I then hopped into SDCC blogging after attending in 2010. It first started as a section on my personal blog but then I took the jump and bought a domain for it.
TNG: YOUR favorite blog read?
Barb: I honestly don’t read too many blogs and the one’s I do are more on the personal side of things. If I see someone tweet out a link that looks interesting, I’ll check it out. I actually need to find more to read! Crazy4ComicCon is one that I do read on a regular basis.
TNG: What is your favorite thing/things to nerd out about?
Barb: There are way too many to list! I have ADD when it comes to things. I’m a huge TV nerd and you’ll always find me watching Supernatural, The Following, Arrow, Being Human (U.S.), and The Walking Dead. I still nerd out over dinosaurs just like when I was a kid. I’m in love with the new Hawkeye comic and can’t get enough of it. That’s pretty obvious from my Hawkeye tattoo! Plus I have an overall love for Marvel. Really, I nerd and geek out over so many things it’s not even funny!
TNG: Any tips for San Diego Comic Con?
Barb: Make sure you eat! I know it sounds silly but there we times during my first year where I actually forgot to eat. It happens, especially if you’re camped out in a room all day watching panels. You can bring food with you, so grab some snacks or even pick up a pre-made sandwich. You’ll thank me later!
TNG: Girlie things you love?
Barb: I’m actually not a huge girlie girl! But I do love shoes and purses! I need to restock my shoes actually since Spring and Summer are just around the corner! I do love a good pair of boots though. I am starting to try and get into Cosplay more, does that count as girlie?
