Geek Girls Gab with Sarah

The Nerdy Girlie:  What is your 1st nerd memory?
Sarah:  I can’t really remember my first nerd memory. When I was a kid, I don’t remember thinking anything was “nerdy” until kids at school started calling me a nerd because I read all the time and was, well…nerdy. I remember watching Star Wars: Episode IV when I was very, very young. I was terrified of Darth Vader, but I started asking for Star Wars LEGO for Christmas soon after. I was also OBSESSED with the Teenage Mutant Teenage Ninja Turtles cartoon when I was a kid. My parents bought me this little sweatshirt TMNT dress with a bright pink skirt. I was also Raphael for Halloween for a few years.
TNG:  How and why did you start blogging?
Sarah:  I don’t really blog. Unless you count that LJ account I had for years, but I don’t. I am addicted to Twitter though, so maybe you could call me a micro blogger. I’ve had an account since around the first year it launched. There’s something appealing about being able to stay connected to so many people who share your interests. I also love the constant news updates. With Twitter, you’re always in the loop about what is going on in the world and cool new things that are happening.

TNG:  YOUR favorite blog read?
Sarah:  My favorite blog to read at the moment is The Mary Sue. They tend to post things relevant to my interests. But I also follow a lot of video game blogs and will pretty much read any blog if I come across something interesting.
TNG:  What is your favorite thing/things to nerd out about?
Sarah:  That is a tough one. I love a lot of things! If I had to choose though, it’s probably video games. When I’m playing a new video game and loving it, I can’t stop talking and tweeting about it. Even to people who don’t play video games. I’m sure they love that (not). I could probably talk to you about Mass Effect for hours. I also love Batgirl. And all things Star Wars.
TNG:  Any tips for San Diego Comic Con?
Sarah:  I have very sadly never been to SDCC. ONE DAY IT WILL HAPPEN. But based on the cons I have been to, I’m going to say you’re probably wise to wear comfy shoes and bring hand sanitizer.

TNG:  Girlie things you love?
Sarah:  I do love shoes. And anything Jane Austen.

Thank you Sarah for taking time to answer our questions!  I love seeing that ALL nerd girls have at LEAST one thing in common!  Follow Sarah on Twitter: @SarahJLA .
