Stan Lee's Comikaze 2013 Wrap Up

This past weekend I headed up to LA for the 3rd annual Stan Lee's Comikaze Expo!  I arrived Friday right after opening and ran up to watch my first panel of the con!

Geek Girls:  Sexism Within the Geek Subculture was a great panel!  It was a call to action for all us nerd girls to unite, stick together and support each other!  All the ladies were wonderful and well spoken.  I was so happy to finally meet Kristin {@SuperSpaceChick} in person as well as Molly {@MollyMcIsaac}!  What a great way to start off Comikaze!

After the panel I hit the floor for the first time.  There were so many awesome things to buy!  First I had to stop by my friend House of Darkly's booth!  She had so many great pieces of nerdy jewelry & cute lil stuffed guys!  I bought this double heart necklace {DOCTOR WHO!} and the one she is wearing a sweet gold coin!

The floor on Friday was quite bare.  It was nice though, because I was able to take some pictures and see everything with out having to fight the crowds.  So if you are not a crowd person, plan on Friday for next years con!

Saturday was a LOT more crowded and arriving at 11 a.m. I found it quite a bit harder to find a parking spot.  I was so happy to JUST make it to the Pete and Pete reunion on the Hot Topic main stage! They were so funny and nice.  They brought back some great childhood memories and I think I need to do a Pete and Pete marathon now!

On Saturday I was able to sit on my VERY FIRST panel, The Super Heroines of Pop Culture moderated by Tony {@Crazy4ComicCon}. I am so happy he invited me and it was so fun to do!  I was up there with three other amazing ladies who I had a great time getting to know IRL!  Please check them ALL out {L to R Sarah, Reena and Nikki}.

We were so blessed to have a room full to capacity with standing room only!  I am so thankful for everyone who came out and who I was able to speak with afterwards and through out the entire con! Thank you all and hope to see you at another panel soon!

Like I said Saturday was a LOT more crowded, but in an amazing way!  So many awesome fans came out for the event and TONS of great cosplayers!  I was able to meet in person so many awesome nerd girls and guys and have some great conversations and make them all friends.  Comikaze was like one big nerd party!

I was so happy to finally meet and chat with the awesome nerdy girlie Ashley of Her Universe.  I was able to thank her in person for making me one of her Fan Girls of the Day.  She is one of the sweetest people I have ever met and so easy to talk to.  I am so in love with her awesome outfits, she makes it so easy for us to be nerdy and girlie!!
