The basic idea of 5 Fandom Fridays is to write a weekly Friday blog post in the form of a top 5 list based on a predetermined topic. It'll give your readers a deeper insight into your fandoms and your blogging personality. It's a great way to avoid bloggers block and sleep well knowing that you have at least 4-5 planned posts for the month.
We'll be posting a master list of topics so everyone has ample time to prepare before the publish date. You can participate as frequently or infrequently as you would like and we encourage you to add your own flair to the titles or topics.
For instance, the October 24th 5 Fandom Friday list is "My Must See List of Halloween Movies," but let's say you prefer writing about TV episodes, books or games. We say go for it! We can't wait to see what ideas you come up with and we're really looking forward to reading and sharing your posts.
Whether you're using WordPress, Blogger, Typepad, tumblr or any other blogging platform, we encourage you to tweet us so we can RT. Make sure you use the hashtag #Fandom5.
I've used my N00B graphic designs skills to create the logo above for everyone to use! We thought it would be a great way for us all to come together and build a stronger geek blogging community. It's probable that we'll all make new friends, find new blogs to read, network with one another, learn from each other, and encourage others to start a blog as well! We've come up with a long list of future post ideas, but we're always open to suggestions if there's a topic you're just dying to write about.
Our first topic, fittingly, is about the 5 Fandoms that were your gateway into geekdom. We hope you'll join us next Friday (and many after) in our new blogging venture!
