Do I still miss LA? Maybe a bit. Mostly my friends. And the pie.
But Denver is great! Minus the snow :-D
What has happened in the last three months and why do I need a blogging break? Let's find out.
1. I've worked five jobs. It only took me a week to find a job once I was unpacked in Denver. I began at a school photography company. It was rough from the get go. I had constant 4:30am wake up calls and sometimes ten hour days. The job was easy. The company was not. In the end I knew it wasn't the right environment for me and luckily I am moving on to bigger and better things.
Today I've been working for a new company Bloom Portraits for three weeks and I've loved every second of it. The owner is amazing. The office is amazing and I've learned more about photography in the last three weeks than I have in my entire life. It's been a huge learning curve. Everyday my head is stuffed with information, but now it is beginning to sink in.
You can finally see his beautiful ocean eyes!
2. Ocean Eyes. I have a boyfriend. That sounds so weird to say, since I feel too old for that word, but I do and he is amazing, everything I've dreamed of. He's thoughtful, encouraging, positive, supportive, loving, affectionate and always there when I need him.
Everyone meet Piper, my step-puppy!
Things aren't perfect. We had our first fight. But we made it through! I struggle daily with wanting to see him all the time and knowing that he and I both need our space. Yesterday I found myself crying with joy because everyone around me can see that I am happier. Ocean Eyes is a huge contributor to that. Being an ESFJ {GO take the Meyer's Briggs test!} I am labeled "The Caregiver". I don't necessarily want a family, but I do love having someone to take care of, be that Ocean Eyes or my friends. I love love. But what I love most is having a partner who appreciates everything about me, the good and the bad.

3. Friends. I have a lovely bunch of gals here in Denver. Everyone has their own busy schedule, but I try my darnedest to see at least one of them once a week! And every time I do it is always eye opening, fun and soul filling.
4. Writing. One of the main reasons I'm writing this post is because I need to take one of those blogging breaks. I've been working on my memoir 100 Cups Of Coffee since the end of last year and it is time to get down to business.
My timeline for my break is until the beginning of June. Now that my work schedule has smoothed out, I can concentrate on my book. I want to take May to really focus on it. I'm counting on my hour lunch break to be a good time to do it and on my Monday's off.
Ocean Eyes and I are heading to LA for his first time at the end of the month {can you say Republic of Pie!!??}. I plan to blog about that and them come back in June with all the SDCC stuff!!! Get hyped! It's getting close! 3 months out and you should be doing this! Check out our guide for even MORE SDCC info!
5. My own place. It's come together. But if I'm being honest, it looks like me but it still doesn't feel like me. I thought I'd enjoy living alone. For the most part I do. My bed is nice and comfy, I have a good amount of light to work through the morning, there is a jacuzzi at my front door, and one of my best friends lives across the street.
But while I was here through the month of Denver I stayed with my BFF and then with Ocean Eyes a lot. Every time I set foot in either of their homes, it feels like home to me. And even still I'm at Ocean Eyes' house just as much as mine. I know its only been three months, I'll get there, but it can get lonely. But also I know all the time I do make myself stay alone in my place, the more I grow. And growth is good!
All these amazing things have happened in only three months! It has taken up until now, but I feel like this is the start of me living and settling in Denver. My work is less stressful and I'm growing as a photographer and writer, I can continue to make time for friends and I can keep building my relationship with Ocean Eyes.
I'm happy. So happy. But when people say that they see me happier that makes me realize how far I've come. Thank you nerds for sticking with me!
SOOOOOOOO.....
See you in June nerds! And don't forget to check out my collaboration tee with the fabulous Jordandene!!!

Aww, I'm going to miss you in May, but it sounds like a much needed break. I'm amazed at all you accomplished! I think my goal every year for the past 3 years has been to write a book. I've started a lot of stories but have yet to finish one. Kudos to you for working on such a big project. I hope you have more focus to do it than I've shown so far.
I've just taken a break from blogging too and it feels good. I've come back so much more refreshed! I'm so happy to see things are working out for you!
So happy that you found a job you enjoy, and now seems like the perfect time to take a break - because when you come back you'll feel so refreshed. Enjoy!
