Interview With A Latte {THE REAL PSL!}

All year long we wait for one drink to come out of it's sabbatical and swagger back into the spotlight. This year the Internet was a flurry with The Pumpkin Spice's {PSL to friends} August return! Below I interview the drink of the season and find out what it's like to be the HOTTEST drink in the world.

The Nerdy Girlie: Autumn is your coming out party. How do you spend rest of the year?

PSL: Even a latte needs a vacay. I spent this year spicing up the Serengeti and checking out my favorite bands. Like everyone else, I wait patiently for the return of Frappuccino Happy Hour.

The Nerdy Girlie: This year you came out of vacation extra early. Why come out in August and how did you prep for your BIG day?

PSL: Autumn is a state of mind. :) I made sure my whip was in top shape and my spices were mixed juuuust right. I kept looking at photos of me on Instagram from last year and thinking I haven’t aged a bit - gotta keep that up! Plus, I worked hard to make sure my #spotthespice unlock challenge was ready to go.

The Nerdy Girlie: You know how to promote yourself! Your Tumblr and Twitter are one of my favorites! What is your advice for creating great content and promoting your brand?

PSL: Go where your people are! For me, it really feels like I’m just joining in the celebration with all the PSL drinkers out there. I’m able to express my personality and use Twitter and Tumblr just like everyone else would.  My publicist trusts and encourages me to be able to tweet with lots of people. 

The Nerdy Girlie: What do the other drinks at Starbucks think of your HUGE popularity? Is there any hard feelings with all the attention you receive each year?

PSL:  Nah, we’re all family. I heard the salted caramel mocha is a little jealous of my orange sweater though.

The Nerdy Girlie: Do you have a favorite pumpkin pastry you find yourself spending a lot of time with?

PSL: The pumpkin cream cheese muffin is one of my besties. We go on a lot of dates together and cannot WAIT for Gilmore Girls to be on Netflix. Watch party, anyone? 

The Nerdy Girlie: Thank you so much for the interview, we know you are super busy this time of year. Can you leave us with your favorite way to spend an Autumn day?

PSL:  I love going slightly out of my way to step on crunchy-looking leaves, then curling up with a good book. Current reading: “Of Spice and Men.”
