I'm done waiting for someone to go places with. Time to get out and fly solo.
I wanted to do something special for my birthday this year. I'd not taken a significant amount of time off in the past year so I thought it was well deserved. This was my 3rd time in Santa Fe, NM and my longest visit. Santa Fe feels like home to me and was excited to be back!
Stay: I've only stayed at two hotels in Santa Fe and both were just fine.
*El Rey Court - I like the vibe and esthetic of this motel. It is cute to look at, the carpet and bathroom are not great but overall I would stay again. Plus they have free parking unlike a lot of other places in town.
*Drury Plaza Hotel - Not the cutest hotel ever. But I loved the location, balcony and free food + drinks. I was able to walk all over downtown from this hotel and the price was reasonable. I stayed here for 4 nights. I would recommend this spot!
To Do:
*Georgia O'Keefee Museum - I've still not been here but am dying to go. Make sure you purchase tickets well in advance. I will make a point to do so and want to head back here again over Christmas!
*New Mexico Museum of Art - I was able to walk right into this museum and it was lovely! Highly
recommend.
*Cross of the Martyrs - This was a perfect place to watch the sunset!
*Bandelier National Monument - I was looking for a hike near by and LOVED Bandelier National Monument. It was the perfect drive, easy hike and so much richness to see. There is so much to explore and I would love to head back and see the Painted Cave.
*Meow Wolf - Don't lean into the hype and you will have a good time! It was certainly a fun way to spend a cold winter day!
Eat & Coffee:
*The Good Stuff - Cafe Vinyl - Coffee + Vinyl? Yes please! This shop was super cute and had so many great goodies! I could have stayed in there forever! I walked over from my hotel which I would highly recommend because when I drove back on my way out parking was very difficult to find!
*Dolina Bakery & Cafe - So much yum and sooooo cute!! Will go back every time I am in town!
Shop:
*Modern General Feed and Seed - Cute general store with food, places to sit and eat and lots of cute things to buy!
*Sub Rosa Mercantile - I follow this store on Instagram and was super excited to finally go in person. So many great goodies and gifts!
Since Santa Fe is only a 5 1/2 hour drive from Denver, I find myself coming back again and again. I've been 3 times now and every time I find something new. There is still so much I want to see there and I cannot wait to go back again!
